Davis Oil Service, Inc. is in a state of transition. It is with some sorrow, yet a good deal of satisfaction that I tell you about it.

Our company started 75 years ago at the hand of Malcolm Davis, my father-in-law. It was operated in its infant years out of the family home on Main Street.

Later, for all the years I was blessed to have Wayne Davis in my life, Wayne and I assumed responsibility for the growing business. Then, with Wayne's death seven years ago, the company's operation was left for Kent, Susan and me to carry on, with the paramount help of our excellent staff. I am deeply proud of the legacy maintained by our family members and staff. All through the years, care of our customers' heating needs has always been the priority focus of our business. And our employees, who work to give that care, remain our passionate concern.

Many of our customers ask for services and products that we have not been able to offer as a small, local, family owned and operated business. Many times we are happy to be small enough to know our customers by name yet riddled with not being able to offer what they ask us for. We have decided as a family to join forces with P. Gagnon and Son of South Berwick and I am selling my interest in the company. We feel that with a combined coming together of our companies, we will not only be able to offer more services and products, but our experience and professionalism will double. With our 76 years of being in business matched with their 102 years of operation, there will be no other oil company that could be better for all your heating needs.

The crux of the plan is combining our business and family of employees into the operation of P. Gagnon & Son, Inc. I believe this move will yield the best of all worlds for all concerned, as P. Gagnon & Son, Inc. has earned respect by way of its values and worthy ideals, as has Davis Oil Service. Kent, as the manager of the business for the last seven years, will stay with the business for the foreseeable future and the operations will remain in the same locations as they are located right now. The telephone number will remain the same and the friendly faces will be the same.

Therefore, I call this a truly happy ending of one segment of the life of Davis Oil Service, and a great new beginning for us all.

Now I wish to thank all of our loyal customers for your years and years of support. And I wish to say a very special thank you, and God Bless you to all of our wonderful employees; both those present now and those of the past. Without you our customers, and without you our employees, our success in business would not have been possible.
