Previous Seminars For 2005

Master Builder Navigation: 
  Are you new to Master Builder and/or computers? If so this is the class for you. Come to learn and practice how to get around in Master Builder.

Confused by the printing screens? Learn how to make sense of them.

This is a free training class, so register early before it fills up!

  

  

Document Control: 
  Learn how to use this area of MB for requests for proposals or information, transmittals, submittals, plan records, daily field reports, punch lists, correspondence & project hot list.

  

  

Beginners Estimating
  Learn how to create basic takeoffs in Master Builder.

Learn how to create, import and use:

  • Parts
  • Part Classes
  • Assemblies

This is a great course for any estimators new to Master Builder.

  

  

Estimating II:
  This is an advanced course, which is great course for estimators who already have a basic knowledge of Master Builders estimating. In this seminar, you will learn how to:
  • Use parts, assemblies, bid items and phases to create detailed takeoffs.
  • Use formulas
  • Export your takeoff information to budgets, purchase orders, subcontracts and more.

  

  

Equipment Management: 
  Learn better ways to track your companies’ equipment for job costing purposes. You will also create loan & deprecation schedules and maintenance logs.

  

  

Beginner Form & Report Design:
  A one-day seminar on how to create basic forms and reports in Master Builder. Bring a report that you’ve been wanting and learn how to create it.

This seminar is for those who have little or no experience using Master Builder form and report writing.

   

  

Payroll: 
  Need to create a new payroll calculation and don’t know how? Take this class and learn how to setup calculations, workers comp rates and employee positions, which handles the posting of wages in the general ledger.

Learn how payroll works behind the scenes when you click compute or post.
    

  

Progress Billing (AIA Billing):
 
  Set up, process, and manage progress billing. Learn how to import a schedule of values from your budget or your proposal.

Did you know you could update your progress bills with actual job costs? Also learn how to update approved change orders into your progress billings.

  

  

Beginners Project Management:
  If you are a new user to Master Builder, this is the class for you! Learn how to:
  • Create the best Cost Code and Division List that fits your company.
  • Create Job Budgets.
  • Create Proposals.
  • Use the Job Management Features of cost to complete.
  • Choose from the different Job Cost Reports to use what best fits your companies needs.

  

   

Advanced Report Writing:
  Learn how to create new reports from scratch, modify existing & create new calculated fields.

This seminar would require attendee to have basic form design & report writer knowledge.

  

  

1/2 Day Workshops

Change Orders:
  Learn how to create prime, budget and subcontract change orders. Use the change order to create accounts receivable invoices or update to progress billing.

   

Cost to Complete:
  Learn how to better forecast and project what the actual costs and/or hours will be needed to complete a job.

   

Progress Billing:

  Learn how to add logo’s and pictures to forms and reports. Need to adjust a report that already exists in Master Builder? Come and learn how. This class is intended for those who have a very basic or no knowledge of Master Builders report design.

  

Subcontracts:
  Use Master Builders subcontracts to ensure that you never overpay a subcontractor. Learn how to enter and print subcontracts, create accounts payable invoices that are related to subcontracts, and print reports from the subcontract information.

  

T&M Billing:
  Learn how to create a time and materials billings. Use Master Builders T&M setup features to create a markup, overhead and profit structure and also labor and equipment rate tables. Compute and print billings, review and edit job costs, post and void a T&M invoice.
