Kevin S. Cooman has engaged in a broad-based civil
and general
litigation practice for
25 years, handling cases from intake through full
appellate practice before the highest courts in New York State
and the federal court system.
These cases have included major
and precedent-setting litigation in the fields of:
- Construction
- General
Contract and Commercial Claims
- Products
Liability
- Negligence
and Professional Liability
- Trademark
- Health Care
- Civil
Rights
- Employment
Discrimination
- Securities and
Consumer
Fraud
- Tax
- Banking
- Education
Kevin also provides general regulatory, risk
management and corporate counseling to clients in
health care (e.g., long-term care facilities, provider practice
groups, and a Medicaid managed care IPA), construction (owners,
general contractors, and subcontractors), and to religious
corporations.
Frustrated with the outdated case preparation methods utilized
by many litigators, Kevin spearheaded his Firm's commitment to
technological innovation in the practice of law. This resulted
in the creation of several proprietary legal software
programs, including THUNDER for Lawyers (case development,
strategy and tracking) and CLOUDS (complete document organizer).
These software tools are utilized by the firm to deliver
cost-effective service to its clients. They are also available
for use in project and risk management contexts for clients who
need to organize documents, report factual information and
develop chronologies of events in a meaningful way.
